Treasure Hunt!

For those of you who have read my previous post, French Chic with Repetto, I am mad about Repetto shoes and would do anything to get my hands on a new pair. After doing a Google search of stockists in Melbourne, I finally found my lost treasure!

Nestled amongst some of the most stylish boutiques along Little Collins Street, Melbourne, there lies the hidden treasure I had been looking for some time now. Treasurette

Treasurette is a boutique which specialises in high-end luxury labels, both international and contemporary, some of which include: Repetto, Aperlai, Givenchy, Maison Martin Margiela, Finsk, House of Harlow 1960 and Vassilisa.

Business owners, Alice and Deborah, named the boutique Treasurette after the original space for the boutique, which was situated near Treasury gardens! Their style motto is "Treasurette is inspired by the love for art, fashion and style."

I made arrangements prior to my visit with the co-owner of Treasurette, Alice. Alice was very welcoming and offered me to visit one hour prior to the regular opening time, so that I could browse and pretty much have the entire boutique all to myself. I felt like a VIP!

When I arrived, I started trying on almost the entire range of Repetto shoes, both ballet flats and heels. I loved every pair that I tried on and remarked jokingly that I would like one of each style...please!!

There I was, surrounded by a sea of shoes, almost drowning! I was in shoe heaven and savoured every moment.

Next was Aperlai, Paris, a line of shoes created by designer Alessandra Lanvin. I have never tried on such amazingly stunning shoes in my life! I will be definitely be saving up for a pair!! Apparently Alessandra consults a podiatrist during the design process in order to ensure that the foot's health is not compromised. At 10cm in height, the shoes were extremely comfortable and I could walk in them with no issues. Very impressive! I felt like I belonged on the red carpet!

So, my overall experience at Treasurette was fabulous. Alice was extremely helpful and knowledgable, offering advice on the correct fit of each shoe I tried on. I was introduced to some fabulous high-end designers, some of which I had only every seen gracing the pages of Vogue and the like, quenching my thirst for new style discoveries.

Next time you make a trip into the city, make sure you pay a visit to Treasurette. You'll be hooked just like I am. Four pairs later...

Yours in style,

Suzi x

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! My top ten must-haves!

Fashion fads come & go, but real style stands the test of time. As mentioned earlier, I'm one for classics versus trends. I love buying clothing that lasts and is therefore timeless.  I have put myself up for the challenge of finding classic pieces using Audrey Hepburn as an example. Here's my list of the top ten must-haves!! 1. Man's style classic buttoned down white shirt 2. LBD-Little Black Dress 3. A-Line dress/skirt 4. Trench Coat (Burberry is the original) 5. Black turtleneck sweater (Preferably cashmere) 6. Leopard print (one piece at a time/NEVER more than one!!) 7. Silk Scarf (Preferably Hermes) 8. Ballet Flats 9. Pearls (Earrings/necklace) 10. Investment handbag (look to Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada for classic styles)   What's your favourite out of my top ten must-haves?  Enjoy your weekend and, whatever you do, make sure you do it in st
